Pitta Prakruti (constitution) people are the fieriest of the lot. They have energy to keep on going, even when other constitutions back down (Vata & Kapha). They do not give up in a fight, and are witty, sarcastic and extremely intelligent. On the negative end of the spectrum, Pitta constitutions can be judgmental and adament about having their own way. Their dominating elements are Fire and Water.
Their digestion is usually very powerful, however it can very easily lean towards Tikshnagni, meaning an overly strong digestive fire, which chars up food, instead of breaking it down and properly absorbing nutrients.
Pitta dominant persons have a fiery personality, sharp tongue and can easily dominate a conversation. They are charismatic, charming and can win people over with ease.
They tend to have reddish hair and a beautiful, lustrous and alluring glow. Their eyes are sharp and penetrating, as if they could look into your soul. They bruise and bleed easily, and can suffer from disorders related to the digestive system, liver and spleen. They often suffer with inflammation, bleeding gums, balding and early graying.
Ruled astrologically by the Sun, Mars and the south node of the moon, Ketu, they are impulsive, argumentative, competitive and domineering. They make excellent teachers, doctors, surgeons, scientists, inventors and technicians. Being highly expressive in nature, Pitta dominant people are usually very creative and artistic. They are vivid and passionate. They express their intense stamina and force through their sexual energy. They are deep thinkers and can be jealous and revengeful at times. Pitta constitutions are natural born leaders and do well in positions of authority and power.
Pitta’s are courageous and enthusiastic. They have a keen sense of judgement, are highly perceptive and discriminative. If the Sun and planet Mars are well placed in their birthchart, they make excellent politicians, military leaders and judges. If you ever need someone brave to defend you in a fight, pick a Pitta dominated person. You’re sure to see fireworks – literally!
